Egg Roll In A Bowl | Ground Beef Recipe | Quick Dinner Recipes
If you are in need of a quick dinner that you can throw together without much chopping and fuss, this recipe is for you! This is one of our favorite dinners for a busy day because this dinner can come together in a matter of minutes.
Meats
We use ground beef for our egg roll in a bowl, but any ground meat will work. If you want a traditional egg roll flavor you can use ground pork.
What To Serve With This Meal?
We love to serve this ground beef egg roll in a bowl over white rice. We just put the rice in a rice cooker and let it do all the work for us. You can use any rice that you like for this dish.
Head of Cabbage or Coleslaw Mix?
We have made this dish both ways. For a fast and easy dinner we love to use a bag of coleslaw mix since the cabbage and carrots are already prepped. If you want to use a head of cabbage for this dish simply chop it into shreds.
Sauce
The sauce for this recipe is so simple. All you will need is soy sauce, water, brown sugar and a few spices. We typically use garlic or garlic powder, and ginger. We use flour to thicken this sauce, but you could use a cornstarch slurry as well. If you are using flour to thicken the sauce, simply add the flour to the pan once the vegetables are cooked down slightly and let this cook for a few minutes to cook the flour taste out. If you do this do not let the flour burn. Once the mixture has cooked for a few minutes add the rest of the sauce mixture and stir well. This will thicken fairly quickly.
